15 Must Know Toddler Food Recipes

Hello Mommies,

What was the latest recipe you tried for your little one? I guess every mom must have tried making a new & interesting dish for their kids! Well, if by any chance you didn’t tried anything new since a while, here are 15 recipes for toddlers which every mom should know  to prepare for their toddlers.

So, lets get started with these recipes.

1- Creamy Cauliflower Soup

  • Cauliflower florets (8-10)
  • Medium carrot ( peeled & sliced)
  • Garlic (1-2 cloves, peeled & chopped)
  • Medium onion ( sliced)
  • Cumin powder ( 1 pinch)
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

Method Of preparation-

Heat olive oil in a pan and saute the sliced onions & garlic for a minute . Add cauliflower florets & sliced carrot and stir well.

Add enough water to cover all the ingredients. Boil the mixture for a considerable time (15-16 minutes) until all the ingredients are well cooked.

Using a hand blender blend the ingredients until a smooth puree is formed. Sprinkle cumin powder and serve to your kid at room temperature.

2- Quick Peas Soup

  • Peas (1 cup)
  • Medium Onion (sliced)
  • Small carrot ( sliced)
  • Cumin Powder ( 1-2 pinches)
  • Salt (1 pinch)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (finely chopped)

Method Of Preparation-

Place a pan on low flame and spray olive oil. Add onion & carrots and saute until they turn soft.

Now add fresh shelled peas in the pan and let it cook for a while. Sprinkle a pinch of salt.

Add one cup water and let it boil. Transfer ingredients in a blender and blender until puree is formed. Sprinkle cumin powder & garnish with fresh chopped cilantro leaves.

Serve lukewarm to your kid.

3- Chickpea Salad

  • Chickpea ( cooked)
  • Onion (1/2 cup finely chopped)
  • Tomato (1/2 cup Finely chopped)
  • Cumin Powder (2 pinch)
  • Salt ( 1 pinch)
  • Few drops of olive oil

Method Of Preparation-

Take a flat non-stick pan and add olive oil drops in it. Saute chopped onion for 1-2 minutes. Add tomato and mix well.

Take the cooked chickpeas and put in the pan. Mix all of it together. Add cumin power & salt.

Sprinkle few drops of olive oil & stir the ingredients well.

Remove from flame and let it standby for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve to your toddler.

4- Tropical Cheese vegetable Mix

  • Cottage cheese (3-4 tbspn)
  • Cauliflower florets ( 2-3 florets)
  • Carrot (Medium & sliced)
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Black pepper Powder (1 pinch)
  • Cumin powder (1 pinch)


Method of Preparation-

Take a pan and pour olive oil and add cauliflower & carrots. Toss the veggies with a little black pepper powder and a pinch of salt.

Add cottage cheese which is cut into small pieces. Ad to the vegetable mixture and let it mix well with the vegetables.

Add 2-3 tbsp water to let the cauliflower & carrots turn tender.

As the water evaporates, sprinkle cumin powder and a pink of black pepper powder. Mix well.

Remove from flame and serve at room temperature.

5- Cottage Cheese Pasta

  • Noodles (1/2 cup)
  • Cottage Cheese ( 1/2 cup)
  • Spring onions (chopped)
  • Garlic  (1 clove, crushed)
  • Butter (1 tbsp)

Method Preparation-

Properly cook noodles as per directions. Drain excess water & keep it aside.

Combine the other ingredients together and make a puree in food processor.

Pour in butter in the noodles and mix well. Toss the noodles in the puree prepared.

Cottage Cheese Pasta is ready to be served.

6- Broccoli Cheese soup

  • Broccoli (cooked & chopped)
  • Small onion (chopped)
  • Olive oil (1-2 tbsp)
  • Grated Cheddar Cheese ( 1/2 cup)

Method Of Preparation-

Pour olive oil in a pan and saute onion until they turn soft. Puree cooked broccoli with sauteed onion.

On a low flame add the grated cheese & broccoli/onion mixture and stir continuously until the mixture turns thick.

The cheese broccoli soup is ready to be served.

7- Egg Cheese Scramble

  • Egg yolk ( 1 egg)
  • Grated Cheddar cheese ( 2 tbsp)
  • Olive oil ( 1 tbsp)


Method of Preparation-

Heat the olive oil in a shallow frying pan and whisk the egg yolk. After that stir in the grated cheese.

Pour the ingredients in the pan on low flame and cook for few minutes until eggs get properly cooked.

8- Vegetable Omelet Recipe

  • Eggs (2 medium)
  • Cooked Vegetables( carrots, capsicum, cauliflower, peas etc)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt (1 pinch)

Method of Preparation-

Whisk eggs in a bowl and add cooked vegetable mixture to it. Place a frying pan on low flame & add olive oil to it.

Add a pinch of salt and then pour it on the frying pan. Let the egg & veggies cook together.

Remove from flame & serve at room temperature.

9- Mashed Soya Nuggets with Cheese

  • Soya Nuggets (1/2 cup)
  • Cottage Cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Small Onion (finely chopped)
  • Black pepper powder
  • Butter/ ghee (2 tbsp)
  • Salt  (1 pinch)

Method of Preparation-

Soak soya nuggets in water and after half an hour squeeze excess water & mash them.

Heat butter in a pan and add onions to it. Saute a little and add mashed soya. After 1 minute add cottage cheese squares to it and mix well. Sprinkle black pepper powder & salt from top.

Let it cool down and then serve.

10- Spinach Scramble recipe

  • Egg (1, beaten)
  • Frozen spinach (1/2 cup)
  • Ghee/ butter (1-2 tbsp)
  • Small onion (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste

Method of Preparation–

Heat ghee or butter in a pan and saute the finely chopped onion for a few minutes.

Whisk spinach & eggs along with a pinch of salt and pour onto the frying pan.

Let the egg spinach scramble cook thoroughly while you continue to stir it! Serve lukewarm to your toddler.

11- Brown Rice Pudding

  • Brown Rice (1/2 cup cooked)
  • Apple juice (2 tbsp)
  • Apricot ( 2, dried)
  • Small banana ( ripe)

Method of Preparation-

Soak apricot in water for about an hour before preparing this dish.

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend all of it until smooth!

Balance the texture of this pudding by adding apple juice in appropriate amount.

12- Sago pudding

  • Sago (1/2 cup, soaked overnight)
  • Milk ( 1/2 cup, full cream)
  • Banana ( one small)

Cook sago in a little amount of milk and let it come to a boil. Stir continuously until the mixture turns thick.

Turnoff the flame and let it rest for a few minutes. Now add the ripe banana and mash it in the sago mixture thoroughly.

Serve it to your toddler.

13- Semolina Pancakes

  • Semolina (1/2 cup)
  • Yoghurt (2-3 tbsp)
  • Small onion( finely chopped)
  • Tomato (finely chopped)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves
  • Butter/ghee

Method of Preparation-

Soak all the ingredients in a large bowl in water for 4-5 hours. After that heat a shallow pan and put butter or ghee in it.

Take a spoonful of the semolina mixture and spread it on the non-stick pan like a pancake. Cook both sides until each side gets well cooked from inside.

Take it out and cut in small pieces. Serve to your toddler.

14- Mashed potato with semolina

  • Potatoes (2 small, boiled)
  • Semolina (2-3 tbsp)
  • Oil ( to shallow fry)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves ( chopped)

Method Of Preparation–

Mash potatoes along with cilantro & salt. Make lemon sized balls of it.

Coat the potato balls in Semolina and keep aside.

Heat a shallow pan and pour little oil and put the potato balls one by one on the pan. Let the flame be low and cook each sides till they turn golden. Serve with their favorite dip or sauce.

15- Simple dry fruit pancakes

  • Dry fruits ( almonds, cashews, coconut, kishmish chopped finely)
  • Wheat flour (1/2 cup)
  • Egg white (1)
  • Butter/ ghee
  • Honey

Method of Preparation-

Whisk wheat flour and egg white together so that no lumps are formed. Add generous amount of honey and the dry fruits.

Mix all of the ingredients well. Heat a pan and pour 1-2 tbsp butter/ghee. Take a spoonful of the mixture and pour in the frying pan.

Cook the pancake both sides on a low flame until the pancake is cooked from inside. Remove from flame and let it standby for a few minutes.  The sweet pancakes are ready to be served.
