5 Corn Recipes For Toddlers
Toddlers make most mommies worried about what food to cook for them which is healthy enough to provide the essential nutrients to the kid’s body for proper development. In spite of many attempts usually toddlers are fussy eaters and toss food more than they eat. But well there is a secret ingredients which they really like and which goes well with them. So till the time mommies struggle with so many innovative recipes to impress the taste buds of there kids.
I n continuation to that here are some interesting corn recipes that I would suggest to prepare for toddlers to make them fall in love with it and also because it is great for the proper digestion and bowel movement in kids. So lets have a look at the recipes-
Cheese Corn & Vegetable Cutlet
- 2tbsp Cottage Cheese
- 1/2 cup sweet corn kernels
- 1/4 cup boiled & mashed potato
- Oil to cook
- 1/2 tsp butter
- A pinch of salt
Saute the cottage cheese and sweet corn in butter in a flat pan and remove from flame. As it cools down mix the mashed potato along with the sweet corn and cheese and make a lump of mixture. Now divide the mixture in equal cutlets and on a non-stick pan let it cook on medium flame. Vegetable cutlets with cheese corn is ready for your kid.
Corn & Capsicum Dumplings
- 1 cup corn
- 1/2 cup capsicum (chopped finely)
- 4tbsp cup rice flour
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for deep frying
First of all blend the corn in a grinder to form a coarse paste without adding any water to it. Now take a bowl and mix all the ingredients together along with the corn paste. Divide the mixture in equal portions to make round dumplings. Deep fry them in oil until golden color. Serve it to your kid with sauce or green chutney.
Roasted Corn with Lemon
- Corn with stem intact
- 1/2 Lemon
- Black pepper powder (optional)
- Salt to sprinkle
First of all take the corn and clean the stem of any outer cover or maize threads. Now put the corn stem in warm water for about 5-7 minutes. Take it out and on slow flame roast it superficially until the kernels turn golden brown. Now rub the lemon on the corn stem and sprinkle salt and black pepper powder on it. Serve it to your fussy eater kid.
Corn & Peas with Cottage Cheese
- 1/4 cup sweet corn kernels
- 1/4 cup peas
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese (cubed)
First of all saute the corn, peas and let it cook until they become soft. Now add cottage cheese cubes to the corn peas mixture and add salt. Mix it well and give it to your kids as finger food. They will love it.
Mixed Fruit Corn Salad
- 1/4 cup watermelon (chopped into cubes)
- 1/4 cup sweet corn kernels
- Lemon juice
- 1/4 cup pineapple (chopped finely)
- 1/4 cup cucumber ( cubed)
First of all combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and toss it all together in lemon juice. Few drops of honey will equally give the perfect tangy flavor to the salad. Now toss the mixture well while sprinkling a pinch of salt. The recipe is ready and serve it to your kid anytime and he/she will love it.
