5 Lip-Smacking Pudding Recipes For Your Kid

Kids love desserts especially if they come in the form of pudding. You can always prepare something delectable for your child on a given day. Here are some interesting recipes for mouth-watering treats that you can serve your kid.

The Baked Alaska:

For this recipe you will require-

  • Softened ice-cream- 1 litre
  • Cake-300g of your choice (maderia, swiss roll)
  • 4 egg whites (large)
  • Jam-100g
  • Castor sugar- 25g

You will need to preheat the oven to a temperature of 230 degrees. Have the cake sliced and layer it on an ‘oven-proof’ baking dish’s base. Pour jam on top of it. Now have ice-cream poured on top if the jam. Press the entire setting to make space on top and place the dish in this dish inside the ‘freezer’ for a time frame of 20 minutes. This will harden the ice-cream again. Whisk all the egg whites together with two tablespoons full of sugar till such time a ‘stiff peak’ is formed. Spread this ‘meringue’ on top of the cake and have it baked in an oven for 5 minutes only. As soon as this meringue turns brown take it out of the oven and serve immediately.

The Syrup Sponge Pudding:

For this preparation you will require-

  • Unsalted butter- 100g (softened)
  • Castor sugar- 100g
  • Eggs-2
  • Self-raising flour-100g
  • Golden syrup- 6 tablespoon

Pour in the sugar and butter in a food processor to turn into cream. Add an egg followed by mixing flour carefully to avoid curdling. Now, add the second egg. Mix it well. Fold the mixture using flour. Pour in measured syrup on the cake and cover this cake mixture using buttered foil to let it expand. Bake the mixture at 200 degree Celsius for at least 35-40 minutes till such time the skewer ‘comes out clean’. Serve cold.

The Banoffee Pie Recipe:

For this recipe you will require-

  • Chocolate based digestive biscuits crushed- 250g
  • Melted butter- 100g
  • Thinly sliced ripe bananas- 3 large
  • Chocolate based flake bar- 1
  • Whipped or double cream- 300ml
  • Carnation caramel- 1x397g tin

Have the crushed biscuits and the melted butter combined and push this mixture into a cake tin’s base (one which has its bottom lose). Now place the sliced bananas on top of the base and pour the caramel over the entire mixture. Top the cake with ‘whipped cream’ and smash the chocolate flake on top of this cream. Chill it and then serve.

The Baked Lemon Pudding:

For this preparation you will require-

  • Butter- 2 oz
  • Castor sugar- 3 oz
  • Eggs- 2 medium
  • Lemon- 1 large
  • Plain flour- 1 tablespoon
  • Milk- ¼ pint

Keep the oven turned on at a temperature of 350-360 degree Fahrenheit. Use butter to grease a soufflé dish 6 inch in height. Grate lemon with cream and butter. Slowly add sugar so that it mixes well. First stir egg yolks and then add flour, lemon juice along with milk. Separately whisk egg whites till they become stiff. Now, fold this egg white into your mixture. Bake this mixture in ‘Bain Marie’ for as long as 45 minutes till such time it rises and becomes firm. Serve it hot or after cooling it.

The Pear And Almond Crumble:

For this recipe you will require-

  • Almond flour-100g
  • Porridge oats-50g
  • Flaked almonds-handful
  • Butter-75g
  • Plain flour-50g
  • Ground cinnamon- ½ teaspoon
  • Vanilla pod- 1 made into half
  • Ripe pears-4-6 that have been cored and quartered
  • Lemon juice-2 tablespoon
  • Sugar-30g
  • Amarettto-4 tablespoon

To make the crumble you will mix the almond flour, porridge oats, butter and plain flour together and refrigerate it. Now, have the butter melted inside a saucepan on low heat. Add the lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla pod (without the seeds), amaretto and sugar. Stir and mix the ingredients. Now pour in the pears and coat them with this spicy liquid. Put a lid on the saucepan and allow the mixture to simmer for around 10-15 minutes on low heat till such time the pears turn soft yet remain firm. Now, have the heat turned off and let the contents for cooling so that the pears can absorb greater amount of the liquid. Place the pears along with the liquid inside an ‘oven proof’ dish covering the contents with your earlier prepared crumble mixture. Bake this dish in an oven for around 20 minutes at 170 degree Celsius. Serve the preparation hot or cold.
