5 Papaya Recipes For Kids
Fruits are available all throughout the year and so mothers need to make sure that there kid has a proper intake of seasonal fruits along with the daily diet. Since the developing years need more energy and nutrition it is essential that they get the right dose of minerals and vitamins at an early age and also learn the importance of the right diet in maintaining proper health. It is difficult as most kids throw tantrums in eating healthy food and always demand for junk unhealthy food. Well, it is a difficult but not an impossible task to include maximum fruits and vegetables in a child’s diet and cut down on high carbs and high calorie food items.
Well, there are some kids who are too fond of having fruits while there are some who start creating a fuss when they come to know about a particular food item which don’t seem appealing to their tongue!
Talking about one such wonder fruit i.e Papaya, It is definitely one of the most healthy fruits which is grown in abundance in Indian sub continent. The first and foremost benefit of papaya is that it is a great fruit for curing all digestive related problems effectively. It gives the required bulk to the food and is high in fiber content which makes it very easy to digest and ensure the bowel movement for the digestive process. This fruit is also rich in multivitamins and minerals like iron, magnesium etc.
It is not that it doesn’t taste good but because kids prefer more appealing fruits with regards to looks, this is mostly discarded by them.
Well that doesn’t mean that smart moms can not give this fruit in any other way! Well, they can surely use the fruit in many ways and offer to their kids.
So here are some great papaya recipes for kids-
Papaya Milk Shake
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup ripe papaya (cubed)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- A pinch cardamom powder
Firstly add papaya cubes in milk, sugar and cardamom powder to a blender and blend until everything blends perfectly well to form a smooth consistency.
Adjust the consistency by adding more or less milk as per your kid’s choice. Refrigerate the smoothie and serve chilled.
Papaya Mango Smoothie
- 1 cup Papaya (cubes)
- 1 cup mango (cubes)
- Sugar (optional)
- Ice pieces
Method– Take all the ingredients except ice and blend them until it forms a smooth paste. Add s little water if the mixture is too thick to swallow. Crush the ice pieces and serve the smoothie as and ideal filling breakfast.
Papaya Fruit Cream
- 1 cup pineapple (peeled & chopped)
- 1 cup apple (peeled & chopped)
- 1 cup banana (cubes)
- 1 cup papaya (cubes)
- Milk Cream (canned)
Take a large bowl and mix all the fruits together. Now take individual bowls or glasses in which you have to serve the fruit cream. Put layers of fruits and cream and so on! Repeat the layers for 3-5 times and add some dry fruits on the top of the bowl or serving glass. A healthy dessert is ready for your kid which is yummy as well.
Papaya and Orange Smoothie
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/2 cup papaya cubes
- Sugar optional
Add everything in the blender and blend it to form a smooth mixture. Since the orange juice tastes a little too tangy you may 1 tsp sugar so as to taste better for your kid. Blend it well and serve.
Mix Fruit Chaat/ Bowl
- 1/2 cup grapes (cut into halves)
- 1/2 cup kiwi ( sliced)
- 1/2 cup papaya (cubed)
- 1/2 cup watermelon cubes
- 1/2 cup mango cubes
- 1 pinch black pepper powder
- 1 pinch chaat masala powder
Take all the fruits in a large bowl and mix them all. Toss them a few drops of honey and sprinkle chaat masala powder & black pepper powder. Toss until everything is mixed well. Serve it as a finger food recipe to toddlers & kids!
