7 Food Recipes For Seven Months Old Babies

As the baby completes the age of six months after the introduction of first food to the baby apart from milk, mothers are continuously concerned about the what to include in the diet of their babies so as to meet the growing needs of the baby.

Also because the baby is initially not accustomed to eating & digesting cereals in their diet  giving anything which is difficult for them to digest is strictly prohibited. Here we will know about some of the healthy & nutritious food recipes which can be given to a 7 month old toddler to digest easily.

Sweet Potato & Cottage Cheese Mash-

Initially infants generally don’t like having anything that doesn’t tastes like milk so starting with a sweet mash of sweet potato & cheese would be a perfect start.


  • Sweet Potato- Peeled & sliced
  • Cheese- Grated ( about 25g)
  • Carrot- peeled & diced (optional)

How to Prepare-

Boil the vegetables until they are cooked and soft. Mash all of them along with cheese or make a thick puree of it to give to your baby.

Spinach & Potato Puree-

This is a mild flavored puree which is extremely nutritious for the  baby as spinach naturally consists of high amounts of iron & other minerals.


  • Spinach Leaves- 6-7 (washed properly)
  • 1/2 cup potato- boiled & mashed
  • 1-2 tablespoons water

How to prepare-

Boil or microwave the spinach leaves in water and drain the excess water. Now chop the leaves after boiling & mix with mashed potato. Using a hand blender mix both the ingredients until a thick puree is formed.

Creamy Banana Porridge-

This is a great recipe for the baby as banana is naturally rich in potassium & gives a sweet taste to the dish.


  • 2-3 tablespoons Porridge oats
  • 150 ml milk (breast milk, infant formula or cow’s milk)
  • Banana- mashed

How to Prepare-

Mix oats & milk in a bowl and microwave for a few minutes on high setting. Sit well and leave it. Add the mashed banana after the porridge mixture reaches an optimum consistency. The dish is ready.

Rice Pudding-

  • 1/2 cup brown rice
  • 1-2 cups water
  • Raisins
  • Cinnamon
  • 1-2 teaspoons brown sugar (optional)

How to Prepare-

Mix all the ingredients in a medium saucepan & cook until the rice turns soft .Stir 1/4th cup of milk into it till the mixture is consistent. Stirring continuously, ensure the optimum consistency of the pudding. Serve warm or freeze as per wish.

Cauliflower puree-

  • Cauliflower florets-7-8 florets
  • Milk (breast milk or formula one)

How to Prepare-

Boil the cauliflower florets to make them soft and transfer to a food processor and blend to a puree. Add a little milk to make the puree of desired consistency.

Broccoli with Tomato & Almonds-

This vegetarian food recipe is extremely rich in vitamin A & C and various other pigments like betacarotene too.


  • Broccoli- 4-5 florets
  • Almonds- toasted & finely ground
  • Tomatoes- chopped

How to Prepare-

team the broccoli for 1-2 minutes until they are tender. Blend with the chopped tomatoes & add finely ground almond, The recipe is ready to be served.

Chicken chunks in Vegetable soup–




  • Chicken- minced & cooked
  • Cauliflower- 2-3 florets
  • Peas- a handful
  • 1/4th cup Carrots- chopped
  • 1/4th  cup Tomato- chopped
  • A pinch of salt & pepper

How to prepare-

Boil all the veggies and mash them to form a thick mixture. Add minced chicken and salt and cook the whole mixture for 3-4 minutes. Add water to make the consistency soupy. Sprinkle pepper and serve.
