The Mango season is in its full swing and the scorching winds are rarely forgiving anyone. It is high time when most of the people are prone to heat strokes and fall sick due to the low hydration level of the body. Talking about summers and that too with a toddler around is one of the critical situations one faces at home. As the temperature really fluctuates from very high to very low temperature of the air conditioned room. The body is exposed to a lot of intrinsic adjustments which sometimes result in feverish state of the body.

Thankfully, This is a great drink specially available in summers which effectively works on heat strokes and brings back the body temperature to normal. The heat winds or Loo as commonly known sometimes leave a person seriously ill just then this summer drink comes to rescue.

This is none other than Aam ka Panna about which we are talking about here. This is really effective drink and we have already heard a lot about its number of benefits from our elders.

Today, I wanted to share the recipe of this healthy drink which is refreshing as well as extremely beneficial for the body in summers. So without any further delay let me quickly share the main ingredients required to prepare this drink!

Ingredients needed for Aam Ka Panna-

  • 2 -3 medium sized Raw mangoes
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon black salt
  • 2 teaspoons Roasted cumin seeds powder
  • 30 – 35 Mint leaves
  • 1/4th teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 liter chilled water

Method Of Preparation

Firstly all the raw mangoes are taken and properly washed with water.

One may directly boil the raw mangoes or alternatively roast them on medium flame. The mangoes can also be chopped and boiled for making the panna.

Now after boiling the mangoes properly extract the pulp and mash it properly in a bowl.

Adding one cup of water to the mixture, boil it again for a while.

Let the mixture cool down for  few minutes. As it cools down add black salt, sugar & mint leaves to it and puree the mixture properly.

Take the mixture in a big bowl or jar and add the rest of chilled water to it and stir thoroughly.

Now add cumin seed powder & black pepper powder to it and mix well stirring continuously.

Now one can either have the drink with its pulp or strain it with a strainer as per personal liking!

Aam ka panna is ready to be served with ice cubes! you can garnish it with mint leaves too!
