Besan Bread Toast – Lunch Box Ideas-
I am back with another interesting post on the Lunch Box Series we have on Baby Blog. I am sure you all mummies find tough time in thinking about the lunch to give to your kid n their lunch box. Although most of the nursery & kids school prrovide you with a proper & planned food chart which includes food items to give to your kid in their lunch boxes but just imagine how choosy kids become sometimes that they refuse to eat the same thing which they loved earlier. Here is where our duty starts and we are always thinking about ways in which we can give variations to the lunch box recipes for the kids.
Here, it also becomes important to keep their taste in mind because kids tend to eat (read after throwing so many tantrums) at home when their parents are there but in school if their teacher misses to look out for them properly they will smartly leave their food if the taste doesn’t appeals to their tongue.
So, I tried making this Besan Bread Toast for my girl in her lunch box. Hope you will like it too!
Let me quickly list out the ingredients-
- 3 big bread slices
For the batter:
- 1/2 cup Besan/ Gram flour
- I finely chopped onion
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1 green chilli (ignore if your child doesn’t eats chilli)
- Tomatoes (optional)
- Salt as per taste
- Oil/Ghee to toast
Method of Preparation-
Prepare the batter by mixing all the ingredients and maintain the consistency by adding appropriate water so that the batter in not very runny.
Dip the bread slices in the batter properly.
Put a tawa or non stick pan and drizzles a little oil or ghee whatever you wish to give your child. Now toast the bread slice on tawa until the batter becomes golden brown and appears to be cooked.
Properly toast both the sides of the slices so that it is cooked from every side.
Now cut the bread pieces into required shapes of rectangle or diagonal half pieces of the a bread slice.
The Besan Bread Toast is ready to be served with your favorite sauce.
I have also given a homemade laddoo for a sweet treat to my daughter in her lunch box whose recipe I will share in another post in coming days. In addition to that I have included boiled beans in her lunch box top give her a good option of food. Hope you like my lunch box recipe ideas! Do share your feedback!
