Chocolate Pancakes For Kids/Toddlers – Recipe

Recipe for chocolate pancakes

Aren’t kids the most picky when it comes to food, especially toddlers. As a mom I think I spend hours together getting my fussy one to eat, it’s not that she’s doesn’t like the food or the taste it’s just that it isn’t interesting enough or attractive enough. And hence I started to make the food for her look much more appealing and voila it worked, she does eat them and also requests for them every week.

I took her favorite pancakes and made them into chocolate pancakes just by adding cocoa and then I used cutters in shapes of animals to make the pancakes look butterfly, doggy or teddy bear. And the best part is she ate them on her own….now isn’t that having the cake and eating it too for us mommies !!!

  •  1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 tsp cocoa powder

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in milk, egg and oil. Mix until smooth.

Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides.

Place a pancake on a plate and immediately cut it with the chosen cutter, serve hot with maple syrup or honey.

Happy cooking mommies !
