This is mainly an easy sweet recipe with Oreo Biscuits to make an interesting combination of Oreo and Ice Cream cake.

To prepare this interesting cake, you also need to prepare the special Oreo ice cream first and so I will sharing the ingredients for cake and ice cream separately!

  • 1 1/3 cups All purpose Flour
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • ½ cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/3 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup Vegetable oil/Butter
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tsp distilled white vinegar
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Ice cream:

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 20 Oreo biscuits (crushed coarsely)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup malt powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 5 Oreo biscuits (pulverized into a food processor)
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 2-4 Tbsp milk
  • pinch of salt

Method Of preparation of Cake-

First of all, pre-heat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Grease the base and sides of 2 9-inch cake pan with butter.

Now line the bottom of both the pans with parchment paper, and then grease the parchment further with butter.

Sieve the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Now whisk all the ingredients to combine them thoroughly. Now add vegetable oil, sour cream and whisk again to blend all the mixture in a very thick mixture.

Now add water and blend again adding vanilla and vinegar together. Whisk in the eggs carefully and beat until everything is blended thoroughly to form a smooth mixture.

Next step is to divide the mixture in two equal parts for the pre-heated pans.
Bake both the cakes for about 25-35 minutes and or until a knife comes out clean from the cake center. Now let both the pans cool down for about 20 minutes, and invert them on wire racks and carefully peel off the parchment paper. Let both the cakes cool down!

Method of Preparation of Ice cream-

First of all, warm milk, sugar, malt powder, 1cup heavy cream & salt in a medium sized saucepan. Take the vanilla beans and scrape the seeds and put in the warm milk mixture. Now cover the milk and remove from flame and let it cool down to room temperature.

Take a large bowl and pour remaining cream into it. Now in a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolk together. Slowly warm the mixture into egg yolk and while whisking thoroughly, scrape the warm egg yolks back to the saucepan.

Pour the remaining 1 cup cream into a large bowl. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks. Slowly pour the warm mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly, then scrape the warmed egg yolks back into the saucepan.

Next step is to chill the mixture thoroughly in the fridge. When ready to churn, take the vanilla bean out and keep it for another use.

Once the ice cream is done churning, mix the coarsely crushed oreo biscuits with a spatula and then transfer it to a container. Now chill the mixture in the freezer for at least 3 hours before using it.

How to prepare Frosting mixture-

Firstly take a hand blender and beat the cream cheese with salt until it turns smooth. Add powdered sugar and milk until a thick consistency is achieved. Now mix the oreo biscuit crumbs and use immediately or keep it in the fridge and use only at room temperature.

Assembling the cake-

Now comes the real job of assembling everything that you prepared so far. When the cake is completely cooled and ice cream has solidified. Place one layer of cake on a serving plate. Use large cookie scoops for extracting 2 cups of ice cream on top of the layer of cake. Make sure to spread the ice cream quickly. Freeze the layer of cake for one hour and once the ice cream gets hard, take it out and place the second layer of cake on top.

Now add the frost with cream and freeze again for 2-3 hours.  If you wish to cover the cake, you can do so with a foil or plastic wrap.

Well, the cake is a little tricky to prepare with the different layers of ice cream and cake but it really tastes heavenly and I am sure toddlers are going to love it!
