Season of soups is coming up now and I have started introducing soups to my daughter. There is some comfort which winter brings which makes these soups ideal for babies. Apple and carrot soup is quite a popular soup recipes among mommies as it’s rich in vitamin A and i quite fulfilling as well. It might not look that tempting but kids like the taste of it. If Anvika finishes this soup, ignoring all her crazy toddler activities , then she is satisfied for long hours.
Recipe of the soup is pretty simple and here are the main ingredients :-
1/2 onion chopped
1/2 peeled and chopped apple
1/2 cup diced carrot
Salt and pepper as per taste
1tsp oil/ghee of your choice
Apple & Carrot Soup – Method and Preparation:-
- Step1 – In a pressure cooker add oil and let it get hot.
- Step2 – Add chopped onions and saute them for a minute or so.
- Step3 – Add apple, carrots and potatoes and 1 cup water. Water should be able to cover up the three chopped ingredients which we added before.Wait for three whistles.
- Step4 – When it cools down, blend it into a paste. Add salt and black pepper and serve the baby If the soup is little dark then I further add some more boiled water into it, although I try to add good amount of water earlier only, while pressure cooking it.
Soup can be given to six month to one year old kids. In fact my sister gives this to her two year old son as well. I will be sharing few more healthy soup recipes in the coming days with you
